Father, Son & Holy Coach
Comedy
By John Posey
September 5 – September 14
Event Rated PG

WCT opens the season with a hilarious comedy about Johnny Sanford, the local Tupelo County, GA, high school football star and his father, Ed Sanford.  Ed is totally obsessed with football, and so is Tupelo County: a fan once shot an opposing player's field goal attempt out of the sky with his deer rifle!  The annual Easter Egg Hunt is the first stop on the recruiting trail for fans consumed with the game. This comedy raises the question of what exactly is a fan, what is success, and is there Life After Football?

Les Misérables
Musical
By Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg
October 10 – October 26
Event Rated PG

This international smash-hit may be the most popular musical in the world. In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways.  See this once-in-a-generation musical on the Waco Civic stage while you can...

'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Family Comedy
By Ken Ludwig

Event Rated G
Rockin' Christmas
Family Musical
Various Artists

December 5 – December 14
Event Rated G

'Twas the Night Before Christmas is the wild holiday adventures of a mouse, an elf, and a spunky little girl who just won't take no for an answer, on their quest to find out why Santa missed their house last year. Don't expect 19th-century decorousness or gingerbread-scented sentiment from Ken Ludwig's latest production, a spirited take on a Christmas story updated for the Pixar era.   A Rockin' Christmas may become your favorite Waco Civic tradition. The WCT will know how to put the Christmas spirit in your heart - as they hully gully down Santa Claus Lane. It's great fun for the whole family.  Filled with holiday hits like Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Jingle Bell Rock, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, and Winter Wonderland, A Rockin' Christmas is sure to light up your tree

Crowns
Musical
By Regina Taylor

January 30 – February 8
Event Rated PG

A moving and celebratory musical play in which a young black woman has come down South to stay with her aunt. Hats are everywhere, in exquisite variety, and the characters use the hats to tell tales concerning everything from the etiquette of hats to their historical and contemporary social functioning. There is a hat for every occasion, from flirting to churchgoing, from funerals to baptisms, and the tradition of hats is traced back to African rituals and slavery and forward to the New Testament and current fashion.

Boeing, Boeing
Comedy
By Marc Camoletti

March 13 – March 22
Event Rated PG

It's the 1960s, and swinging bachelor Bernard couldn't be happier: a flat in New York and three gorgeous stewardesses all engaged to him without knowing about each other. But Bernard's perfect life gets bumpy when his friend Robert comes to stay and a new and speedier Boeing jet throws off all of his careful planning. Soon all three stewardesses are in town simultaneously, timid Robert is forgetting which lies to tell to whom, and catastrophe looms. A riotous farce that recently enjoyed hit revivals in London and New York

Shrek
Musical
By David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori

April 24 – May 10
Event Rated PG

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his name is Shrek.
